They sleep more. They know more. They ask for less and give more back. Senior dogs are the most overlooked dogs in rescue — and the most rewarding to adopt.
A senior dog's personality is established. You will know within the first week whether they love cats, prefer mornings, or have opinions about the postman. No guessing. No surprises.
Senior dogs have typically lived in homes. They know how houses work. They do not chew through three pairs of shoes or bounce off the walls at 6am. They sleep, mostly, and they do it elegantly.
Less exercise, shorter walks, no puppy training. Our average adoptable senior needs two 20-minute walks a day. For people who love dogs but find the puppy energy stage exhausting, a senior fits differently.
We do not work on a first-come-first-served basis. We match dogs to homes. The right home for a dog is more important than a fast placement.
Visit our Meet our Dogs page, filter by status, age, or breed type. Read each dog's full profile — story, medical history, foster report. Only "Adoptable" dogs are available; hospice and sanctuary dogs are not for adoption.
Complete the adoption application form below. Tell us about your household, your experience, and the kind of dog you are looking for. We review all applications weekly — you do not need to apply for a specific dog.
Our adoption coordinator calls to discuss your application and suggest dogs who might be a good match. This is a two-way conversation — you can ask questions, rule dogs out, and tell us what we have not thought to ask.
We arrange a meeting with the dog at a neutral location or at the foster home (with the foster's agreement). Take your time. Bring anyone who will live with the dog. There is no pressure to decide on the day.
A coordinator visits your home — 30 minutes, no surprises. If everyone is happy, we arrange the adoption. You receive a full care file, all medical records, the foster's handover notes, and a two-week check-in call.
Adoption fees contribute to the cost of the dog's care during their time with us. They are not profit — they go directly back into the programme.
In rare cases where a hospice or sanctuary dog is rehomed, we waive all fees. The priority is the dog's wellbeing, not cost recovery.
In a real implementation, fees would be payable by card, bank transfer, or cheque. No real transaction occurs on this demonstration site.
No payment will be processed. This demonstrates how an adoption application would be captured and routed to the admin dashboard.
No real application is being processed. This is a demonstration of how adoption applications would be captured and managed.
